Avery Dennison™ Greenprint Product Life Cycle Assessment

Avery Dennison takes the entire product life cycle into consideration when developing strategies and designs for environmentally responsible labeling and packaging.
Sustainability
The Avery Dennison™ Greenprint product LCA methodology helps us reduce the potential environmental impact of materials upstream and downstream, and helps you understand the environmental consequences of labeling and packaging choices. Our focus on leading materials innovation, sustainable sourcing and LCA-based design sparks industry advancement and promotes more meaningful decision-making.

By quantifying the impact of functional labeling and packaging made from fewer and more sustainable materials, we can translate a recycled label design into, for example, the number of trees saved. In turn, this creates a powerful sustainability story that can elevate your brand and accelerate sales.

Greenprint Life Cycle

Every Avery Dennison™ Greenprint provides environmental impact data across six categories:

  • Fossil content in the raw materials (barrels of oil)
  • Number of trees used to make the raw materials
  • Water use (liters or gallons)
  • Greenhouse gas emissions (tonnes of CO2)
  • Solid waste generation (tonnes)
  • Primary energy used (kWh or MJ)
