FSC Certification
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) improves the management of the world’s forests. We’re pleased to tell you that we have improved our processes with FSC certification at our Label and Packaging Materials North America facilities. Be assured that all Fasson® FSC certified products have achieved chain-of-custody certification. (SCS Certification Registration Number: FSC-CO18096).
New Recycling Protocol for PET Thermoform Containers
Fasson® Direct-Thermal 200HD label facestock with S490 adhesive has been approved by the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers (APR) for the recycling of PET thermoform containers. The new protocol helps identify a pressure-sensitive laminate that satisfies both the need to adhere and to be removed prior to recycling, thereby allowing PET thermoformed packaging to be recycled in an efficient manner. 2011 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award
Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials received the 2011 Environmental Leadership Award from the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI). The award, given by the TLMI Environmental Committee, recognizes the leadership efforts of member companies that consistently demonstrate a commitment to worthy environmental practices. Read more.
2008 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award
Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials was recognized with the 2008 TLMI Environmental Leadership Award. Established in 2003, TLMI annually awards the leadership efforts of a membership company that can demonstrate their commitment and quantitatively measure good environmental practices.
Environmentally friendly packaging initiatives recognized by TLMI include:
- Doubling of the Fasson® Sustainable packaging product portfolio.
- Giving converters access to unique service programs – Fasson EXACT™, Ready Width™, Optimum PerformanceSM – that can improve productivity and reduce waste, along with creating better inventory management.
- Introducing, in partnership with Channeled Resources Group, Recycled Solutions™, a liner recycling program that ensures all liner products – including paper and PET silicone coated – can be reused or recycled with regional collection centers and simple logistical solutions.
- Continuing education vehicles such as regional road show events and webinars to help customers understand how they can engage in green behaviors that drive value. Topics ranged from waste hierarchy, to using life-cycle analysis and data-driven information for informed decisions making, to looking at trends and opportunities.
