Pressure-sensitive labels are too expensive. Pressure-Sensitive labels may be more expensive on a per label basis but the total applied cost is typically on par or lower than other label technologies.
It won’t work on my preferred packaging type. Recent innovations make pressure-sensitive labels possible on virtually any container type.
Pressure-sensitive labels don’t provide a significant increase in commercial appeal. Surveys show consumers prefer pressure-sensitive labels to other labels.
It’s more difficult to handle and slower to apply pressure-sensitive labels. Pressure-sensitive labels can achieve some of the highest application speeds and require only one step to apply.
It’s not environmentally friendly or sustainable. Dozens of eco-friendly facestocks, adhesives and liners are now available.
